John Herber Ltd T/A The Canvas Technology Centre
Recently, John Herber Ltd / The Canvas Technology Centre were contracted to design & manufacture a 60m wide x 30m high Concert Cutdown Acoustic Curtain for Te Kaha, One NZ Stadium Christchurch, to enable the stadium to be cut down for smaller capacity concerts.

The challenges were to come up with a design that be easily handled when installing, deinstalling, and storing after each use. The fabric used also had to be acoustically rated and of course Black in colour. After a lot of trialling and sample curtains made, tested and approved by the architects and acoustic engineers, we decided to manufacture the curtain in 250 3m high x 2.5m wide clip together sections using Sioen B6353 Foam Insulated PVC.
As the B6353 has only 2 standard colours, Grey or White, Mark Evans from Wiggins organised a special run of Black B6353 specifically for this job and having the roll sizes done at 35m, tailored to suit our cut sizes required, made for much easier handling and minimal wastage.

Having Wiggins source and produce the specialty fabric and colour for us, made the whole job much easier on us and it was all delivered within the specified time frame. This was not the first time we have had Wiggins organise special runs of fabric for us, and I am sure it will not be the last.
When finally finished and installed for the first time, the job was a huge success!
