Hiraoka Sundream consists of a high tenacity polyester base cloth with transparent PVC coating.

Hiraoka Sundream has a PVDF lacquer on the top surface and an acrylic lacquer on the under surface.

Hiraoka Sundream is the first choice for architectural sails, shade structures, covered walkways, awnings and canopies where protection from rain and U/V light is desired whilst retaining high levels of natural light.

Hiraoka Sundream Installation Requirements:
Hiraoka Sundream is a high-quality fabric for outdoor structures that require high light transmission levels.
The high light transmission through the fabric can cause increased solar heat gain of the metal supporting structure. The elevated temperatures of the metal frames will accelerate the aging and discolouration of the material. It is essential that there is some insulation applied to the metal surface that is in contact with the Sundream fabric. This insulation can be the frame shield tapes that are used in the horticultural industry to protect the plastic covers over greenhouse frames. As an alternative, a strip of white PVC coated fabric can be applied to the frame surface to reduce the solar heat gain of the metal.
Sundream needs to be installed with high levels of tension applied to the fabric. It needs to be drum tight to avoid any ponding on the fabric surface. If a thin film of water remains on part of the surface, it can act as a lens and magnify the heat from the sun. This will dramatically reduce the life of the fabric and will cause significant discolouration of the material.
To minimise the risk of any ponding the fabric should be installed at an angle of 10 degrees or more.
It is essential that these installation requirements are followed to ensure that you achieve the best performance results for the fabric.
